Social Inclusion - a document by Liverpool City Council

People with learning disabilities in Liverpool should be part of the mainstream life of our city.
Whilst some are, too many are not and face life at the margins of society, with little prospect of a job, a decent income or a healthy life. The new Planning for Social Inclusion document sets out how we intend to change this.
Bluecoat Development: work starts on flagship cultural project that will put art at the heart of Liverpool .

England's Northwest is already a massive sporting region. It is home to the leading sporting brands of Manchester United Football Club, Liverpool Football Club, JJB Sports and Reebok; all of which are recognised across the world.  More recently the acclaimed hosting of the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester has positioned the region as the UK's region for sport.

What's Going on?
More like what's not going on! It's all happening on the Sense of Sound side at the moment. Last Friday Jennifer won the 'Business Woman of the Year for Arts and Culture' Award from the European Federation of Black Women Business Owners at a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane, London. We are all so proud and delighted and feel it's the start of a whole new phase for Sense of Sound.
On top of that Jennifer John and Juliet Russell have BOTH got through to the finals of the British Music Week  Best Unsigned Act Award (from over 2,500 entries no less!) and Juliet will be performing at Wembley Conference Centre on 11th November.

As London nears decision day for their Olympic bid, the significance it has towards regeneration is not lost. Not only will the Olympics improve the infrastructure of the capital in terms of roads and transport, it will also leave a legacy of new facilities for the general population as well as for visitors.

Closer to home, the impact of the Commonwealth Games on the economy of Manchester has been incredible.
